portrait_peter2_notitleBorn and educated in the Netherlands Peter moved from Rotterdam to Melbourne in 1983 after a successful career as a Deck Officer in the Dutch merchant navy and a stint at the Rotterdam Port Authority.

Upon arrival in Australia Peter continued his career in the shipping and stevedoring business culminating in his role as General Manager of Patrick Container Terminals until early 2009.  Peter has also been an invited speaker at several national and international conferences

Peter’s extensive experience in operational and senior management roles enables Espero Logistics Solutions to offer a wide range of services. Peter’s competency with English, Dutch, German and French facilitates working with companies that operate in multilingual environments.

Peter is excited about the new opportunities that Espero Logistics Solutions is presenting and the challenge of working with a range of clients in the logistics and transport sector to assist them to remain competitive in the current economic climate.

Peter is involved in the Dutch community in Victoria and is a board member of Dutchcare Ltd, an aged care provider that caters predominantly for Dutch elders. He is also president of the Dutch Orange Day committee which organises a one day festival in the Melbourne CBD to celebrate the Dutch National Day.

Peter is a keen cyclist and together with his partner Veronica has undertaken many self guided cycling trips in Australia and abroad. His favorite food is a Dutch delicacy called “poffertjes” which are pikelets covered with icing sugar and melted butter.
